IPL 2021: Sunrisers Hyderabad Replaced Mitchell Marsh with Jason Roy

In this upcoming IPL season 14, there will be a lot of reshuffling among the players of various teams. Season 13 of IPL was badly hampered due to the pandemic and forced to play without any audiences, and instead, it goes online. For Sunrisers Hyderabad,England opener Jason Roy replaced Mitchell Marsh after the Australian all-rounder made himself unavailable due to personal reasons.

During the first game of the 2020 edition, Marsh had got an injury, and due to which he couldn’t play the remaining matches. Marsh made his first Indian Premier League or IPL in short, in the year 2010 and has played 21 matches. Jason Roy made his debut in the IPL during the year 2017 for Gujarat Lions. However, he played for Delhi Capitals in the 2018 edition. To date, Roy has played eight matches and scored 179 runs with only one half-century to his name.

During the recently concluded ODI and T20 matches against India, Jason Roy showed decent form, and it could be the main reason SRH has signed him up with a whopping 2 Crore Rupees.
Jason Roy is one of the young emergings and promising England’s cricketers who mostly play as an opener. The decision of SRH of replacing Marsh with Roy and could be a game-changer in this IPL season 14.
