When all our politicians are too busy doing nothing, a nine-year-old girl, Licypriya Kangujam from Manipur, is raising her little voice and trying all her possible ways to pass a climate change law in India. Thousands of children died of air pollution every year in India, and no one even thinks of it for a second. Our best leaders are busy blaming each other and throwing a tantrum on social media instead of finding long term solutions. As a result of poor planning, India has got the world’s most polluted place, i.e. New Delhi, the capital of India, in the world and, it is the place where our brave climate activist Licypriya resides.

She took the cudgel of climate change at a very tender age in July 2018, and now her movement has passed two years. Most often, media from all over the world called her “Greta of India“. She reiterated that “If you call me Greta of India, you are not covering my story and instead, hiding all my efforts to save this dying planet.” In fact, she is a brave and brilliant girl who won’t hesitate to express the truth inside her even if in front of any leader of the world.

At such a young age, this child named Licypriya Kangujam should be studying and playing like any other child. Instead, she took a unique and different path as a Climate Change Environmental Activist to save our planet from dying a slow death.

She helped her father, K.K Singh, raise funds and gather relief materials to be distributed to those displaced people in Nepal. She was saddened by the tragic incident and decided to take the path that can save this Earth from further deterioration.
In July 2018, she attended the Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction. At that conference, she garnered a lot of experience and encouraged her a lot to engage in saving this dying planet. In that year, she set up the child movement to spread awareness among the masses about the consequences of climate change and how to tackle it to save the Earth’s future.

LICYPRIYA KANGUJAM IS NOT LESS A SUPERHERO
As an environment and climate justice activist, she spends most of her time fighting for climate change and teach our most corrupt politicians how to frame a climate law. But this time, due to this deadly COVID-19 crisis in India, her attention has now diverted to saving the precious lives of the country.
Our country is trying to contain this massive outbreak of COVID-19 that has killed more than 270000 people and is still counting. Licypriya is taking matters into her hands and helping hundreds of people in the country who are affected by deadly COVID-19. Since the begining of the second wave of COVID-19, many people are dying in India due to the lack of oxygen supply in most hospitals.
Using her online influence, she raised funds to procure oxygen concentrators to help those in dire need of oxygen for breathing. Most of the COVID-19 patients in the country show breathing problems. Hence the supply of oxygen in most hospitals is exhausted.
So, far Licypriya has saved more than 100 lives and counting. To save more and more people, she needs our financial support to procure more oxygen concentrators. That’s why she has been appealing to all the people worldwide to support her in donations through Keto.org, an Indian crowdfunding site.
